Catherine Loria's amazing voice does not end up in Hollywood, California, USA after capturing two grand titles in 2008 World Championships Of Performing Arts (WCOPA) as the Junior Vocalist Grand Champion and the Junior Grand Champion Performer of the World who bested 42 countries with 5, 000 acts in a one week grueling competition.
Truly gifted with a big and soulful voice and a projection of a very refine singer, this young lady from Tiaong, Quezon continues to inspire the young generation in fulfilling their dreams.
After her win in Hollywood, Catherine invited to perform in different top-rated local TV shows in the Philippines like in ASAP '08, RATED K, TFC connect, ABS-CBN 2008 Upload and in NBN-4 'Ani Ng Sining' (Harvest of the Arts) and BantayOCW 'Galing Ng Pinoy'. The Philippine’s President GMA has awarded her a plaque of appreciation through her great contribution in Music and Arts by bringing honor and pride in winning on this prestigious 'Talent Olympics'.
She had done a couple of concerts with Jed Madela nationwide, special appearance on Sam Concepcion’s birthday concert and recently appeared in Singapore through a charity concert with the 1st Philippine Idol Mau Marcelo together with the Singapore's Pinoy Talents.
A very promising Album of Catherine Loria under MART production (Music Avenue for Real Talents) own by Mart Ilagan, a songwriter, talent manager and a record producer based in Singapore will be expected to finish by April 2009 and this will be launched in Singapore on May 2, 2009 at DXO Esplanade for another charity event.
The album is being collaborated by MART with no other than the HITMAKER of great Original Pilipino Music (OPM), Mr. Vehnee Saturno. Very promising songs had been selected carefully to cater the tender age and the innocence of Catherine that will be hitting different radio stations soon in the Philippine archipelago.
7 original cuts had been included in this album, ‘Care About’ music by Vehnee Saturno and Lyrics by Popsie Saturno is a moving song that tells us to care about our humanity. Another song from the Saturno tandem is a feel good music about a love blossoming for a life of a teenager, ‘When I’m With You’ which could be a potential hit in the radio airwaves.
Festival songwriter, performer and producer from Singapore, Mr Sean Wong who will be representing Singapore in this year WCOPA 2009 offered his song to Catherine upon seeing and hearing her video clips in Youtube under marlon1112 channel. The song ‘I Believe In You’ with a touch of a contemporary Chinese melody brings out an inspiring message of a true believer.
Mart Ilagan penned out 4 songs about love, hope and faithfulness. ‘Pag-ibig Ko Ay Ikaw’ (You Are My Love) is the only Tagalog song which could be a classic song for a wedding ceremony and could be a potential theme song from a movie or a ‘Pinoy Teleserye’ (Philippine’s TV drama). One Dream, One Hope, One Nation was written to bring a message to the world that the Philippines is a Nation bind by true love with rich Filipino culture and harmony. Keep On Dreamin’ with a pop and RnB tune conveyed a message that there’s always hope in the power of dream. Biomass plant, sisimulan ng itayo sa Unisan, Quezon

PITOGO, Quezon- Ibinalita ng isang mambabatas sa Kongreso ang nalalapit na pagtatayo ng isang 11-megawatt Biomass power plant na kauna-unahang planta ng kuryente sa bansa na ang gatong ay mula sa bunot, kayakas at bao ng niyog sa mga kasapi ng Quezon Electric Cooperative 1 (QUEZELCO 1) sa ginanap na ika-37 membership general assembly noong Abril 24 ng bayang ito.
Ito ang tinuran ni Quezon 3rd district Cong. Danilo Suarez matapos makumpirma ang pagdating ng 15 inhinyero Pranses at Indian upang bisitahin ang lugal na pagtatayuan sa Unisan, Quezon.
Sinabi pa ng Quezon solon na dalawang buwan simula ngayon ay malaking posibilidad na masimulan na ang nasabing biomass power plant.
Ani ni Suarez na kapag naisakatuparan ito sa pamamagitan ng nasyunal na pamahalaan ay hindi naasa ang QUEZELCO 1 sa National Power Corporation (NAPOCOR) para masuplayan ng kuryente ang mga bayan ng ikatlo at ika-apat na distrito ng Quezon,
AYon pa sa mambabatas na bukod pa na magkakaroon ng dadgdag na pagkikitaan ang mga magsasaka ng niyog, sapagkat ang mga tuyong kayakas, bao, bunot mula sa niyog ay bibilhin ng P1 bawat kilo.
Ang QUEZELCO 1 ay kumukuha ng suplay ng kuryente mula sa NAPOCOR na 22 megawatt, kaya kung makapag-ooperate ang planta ay 11 megawatt na lang ang dadagdagan ng kooperatiba.
Subalit, idinagdag pa ni Suarez na maliban sa plantang itatayo sa Unisan ay may dalawa pang biomass power plant ang nakatakdang itayo sa Catanauan at Calauag, bukod pa ang isa sa Camarines Sur. sa distrito ng sakop ng Cong. Datu Arroyo.
Kaya kapag naganap ang programang ito ni Pangulong Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo at Suarez para sa Quezon ay ang QUEZELCO 1 na ang magbebenta ng sobrang kuryente na lilikhain ng mga planta.
Ang BioGen, isang banyagang imbestor ang mamumuhunan ng nasabing planta.

Pilipinas pumangalawa sa basura

METRO MANILA- Pumapangalawa na ang Pilipinas sa may pinakamaraming basurang nakuha sa karagatan base sa ulat ng Ocean Conservancy Organization na na ka base sa Amerika.



Nanguna sa listahan ang Estados Unidos at ikatlo ang Costra Rica, kaugnay nito isinulong ni Senator Ramon Bong Revilla ang Senate Bill 777 na naglalayong ikulo angsinumang magtatapon ng solid toxic, hazardous o kahit na domestic garbage sa dagat, beach, ilog at iba pang daanang tubig sa loob ng teritoryo ng Pilipinas.



Ayon sa Ocean Conservancy may 1,355,236 piraso ng basura ang narecover mula sa mga bahagi ng karagatan at baybaying dagat ng Pilipinas sa kanilang isinagawang International Coastal Clean-up noong Setyembre ng nakaraang taon.



Nanguna sa talaan ng trash items na nakuha mula sa karagatan ng Pilipinas ay mga plastic bags, paper bag, at food wrappers.



May mga nakuha rin na piraso ng damit, sapatos. Tobacco related items kabilang ang mga upos ng sigarilyo, lighter, at kaha gayundin ang diapers.



Sinabi ni Revilla na maliwanag na ginawa ng ” open dumpsite” ang karagatan dahil sa kawalan ng batas na maaaring ipataw sa mga nagtatapon ng basura.


DTI improves CLEEP in CALABARZON

Government will help CALABARZON cope up with the financial slump.

Launched on Friday by President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, the Enhanced Price and Supply Monitoring project of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) will strengthen the Comprehensive Livelihood and Emergency Employment Program (CLEEP) in the region where the number of displaced workers is significantly high.

“Yan pong CLEEP natin…dalawang bagay po ang matutumbok na ito…hindi lang po emergency employment kundi patuloy na pagmomonitor natin sa presyo ng bilihin sa merkado,” said Deputy Presidential Spokersperson Lorelie Fajardo.

The monitoring project will help ensure products in the region will be safe, high quality and reasonably-priced.

It will also hire displaced workers as price monitors to be deployed in Laguna, Batangas, Cavite, Quezon and Rizal for the next six months.

Each price monitor will receive Php 5,082 monthly allowance.

Apart from watching prices, the monitors will be helping business establishments to comply with the Price Tag and Labeling laws, Product Standard Law and other trade laws.

In Laguna, DTI will hire at least 500 for the next three months.

To date, more than 527 displaced workers were trained on how to put their own businesses under the CLEEP in Laguna.

Ninety-seven entrepreneurs have applied for loans worth P855,000 with the Small Business Corporation while 180 applied for loans with the Postal Bank. #
