PNP CALABARZON Gunned Down Notorious Drug Pusher in Quezon; Numerous Illegal Drugs Seized

A notorious drug pusher was killed in a shoot-out after the police disguised as a buyer during the conduct of buy-bust operation yesterday evening, February 19, 2009 in Tayabas, Quezon.
Report reaching this office disclosed that at about 8:00 p.m. of said date, elements of Quezon Police Provincial Special Operations Group (PSOG) while conducting buy-bust operation against suspected drug pushers at Leveriza Heights, Bgy Isabang, Tayabas, Quezon, engaged in a shoot-out with a group of drug pushers.
Initial investigation disclosed that a day before the incident, February 18, 2009, an information was received from a confidential informant that a certain @ Boy D/@Demonyo from Calauag, Quezon will deal at least one (1) kilo of Marijuana in Lucena City and nearby towns.
On February 19, 2009, the suspect contacted the informant and set the drug deal at the vicinity of Max’s Restaurant in Brgy. Isabang, Lucena City at 8:00 PM. However, when the operatives were already posted thereat, a text message was again received from the suspect and this time, he is directing the informant and poseur-buyer to proceed inside Leveriza Heights Subdivision located in Brgy. Isabang, Tayabas, Quezon. The team proceeded to the area and PO2 Nino Sayco who was designated as the poseur-buyer together with the informant were meet by two (2) malefactors, one of them identified by the informant as “@ Boy D”/Demonyo. Negotiation was initiated with the suspects and one (1) brick of marijuana of less than a kilo was shown and offered to the poseur-buyer pegging the price in the amount of Php7,000.00 but was declined by the poseur buyer as he was only capable of buying around Php1,000.00. When it was about to be paid by the poseur buyer, the companion of @ Boy D/Demonyo became suspicious and started to confront PO2 Sayco. Afterwhich, said unidentified malefactor drew a handgun and at the same time pointed at him. Scuffle of firearms transpired. @ Boy D/@Demonyo also drew a handgun and shots rang out. The back-up of PO2 Sayco rushed to the scene when they saw that PO2 Sayco was about to be overpowered and being shot by one of the suspects. P02 Sayco released @ Boy D/@Demonyo from his grab and tried to seek cover. A running gun battle ensued until @ Boy D/@Demonyo was cornered and wounded in a grassy canal. Unfortunately, the unidentified companion of @ Boy D/@Demonyo who also traded shots with the police operatives was able to escape.
Immediately, the suspect was rushed to Lucena United Doctors Hospital but was pronounced Dead on Arrival (DOA) by the attending physician.
Recovered at the crime scene were one (1) self-sealing transparent plastic sachet for cellphone accessories, undetermined quantity of suspected dried marijuana leaves and fruiting tops, one (1) piece of suspected marijuana brick of undetermined quantity wrapped in a packing tape, one (1) Homemade Pistol cal 5.56 MM, one (1) empty shell of cal 5.56mm and one (1) pair of slippers.
The slain suspect was identified by his relatives as Arnold Enguero y Reyes, 27 years old, single, jobless and a resident of Bgy Sta Maria, Calauag, Quezon
Recovered pieces of evidence from the suspect were one(1) black wallet containing his Identification cards; one (1) pack of cigarette rolling paper; Turkish bill amounting to 5,000,000; two(2) pieces of foreign bills of unknown denomination; cash money amounting to Php420.00; one (1) pack of condom; three(3) photographs of a woman; two(2) pcs SIM cards (Smart and TNT); one (1) silver necklace and one (1) Nokia 1200 cellular phone.
Follow-up operations conducted by elements of Quezon PPO resulted to the recovery of one (1) black back pack containing assorted personal belongings and one (1) brick of marijuana leaves and fruiting tops and small branches allegedly left behind/entrusted by the deceased suspect at the residence of Genora G Alfuerto and Eduardo Alfuerto located at Lot 7, Block 29, Enverga Avenue, Leveriza Heights, Bgy Isabang, Tayabas, Quezon. The Alfuertos claimed that the deceased suspect is known to them and had passed by their residence at around two hrs before the incident to visit their son and subsequently left after few minutes.
The recovered suspected marijuana bricks, leaves, twigs and fruiting tops were forwarded to PNP Crime Laboratory for examination. The other pieces of evidence are in the custody of Quezon PPO for proper disposition. Cadaver of the suspect was claimed by his relatives at Lucena United Doctor’s Hospital after it was subjected to paraffin examination and autopsy.
Follow-up investigation is still being conducted to locate the other suspect and their cohorts.








Mt. Banahaw, sarado pa rin sa publiko


Lucban, Quezon – Muling dinagdagan ng panibagong tatlong (3) taong pagkakasara ang ipinasa ng Protected Area Management Board (PAMB) para sa ng Mts. Banahaw-San Cristobal Protected Landscape sa kanilang pagpupulong na ginanap sa Southern Luzon State University (SLSU) sa bayang ito kamakailan.

Ngayong 2009 ay ang ika-limang taong pagkakasara ng Mt. Banahaw simula nang ito ay ipasara noong Marso 9, 2004 sa pamamagitan ng PAMB Resolution No. 2004-0001. Pinakamabigat na dahilan kung bakit isinara ang Bundok Banahaw ay ang pagka-diskubre ng mga experto na ang inuming tubig na nanggagaling dito ay kontaminado na ng coliform bacteria o bakteryang nagmumula sa dumi ng tao at dala na rin ng basurang naiiwan ng mga dumadayo rito tuwing panahon ng semana santa.

Sa pag-aaral ng PAMB, kanilang napag-alaman hindi pa handa ang Bundok Banahaw upang muling akyatin ng mga tao. Kung kaya’t ang pagpapalawig ng moratorium ang kanilang inerekomenda para mas higit na maprotektahan ang pagkasira ng bundok.

Inihahanda pa rin ng PAMB ang management plan nito para sa paggamit sa mga lugar na idineklarang strict protected zone at multiple-use zone at ang kaukulang carrying capacity sa dalawang bundok.

Matatandaan na noong taong 2006, sa ika-dalawang taong pagkakasara nito ay nai-dokumento ng Tanggol Kalikasan ang pagkakaroon ng “rafflesia” na sinasabing pinakamalaking bulaklak sa buong mundo kaalinsabay nito ay ang muling panunumbalik ng tubig sa Cristalino Falls.

DPWH- Quezon holds jobs fair

LUCENA CITY---The Quezon 4th Engineering District Office based here will start holding a massive jobs fair on Monday, February 23.

District Engineer Ronnel Tan said the jobs fair which will be launched simultaneously by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) nationwide aims to provide employment to displaced or affected workers due to the current global crisis.

"This is timely and a very good opportunity for our skilled or unskilled workers here and abroad who are now jobless as initial result of the worldwide recession", said Tan.

According to Tan, Quezon has thousands of jobless residents even before the occurence of global crisis, and that the jobs fair will definitely help to reduce the percentage of unemployment in the province enspecially in the 4th district.

"We were told by our regional director, Engr. Bonifacio Seguit to see to it that those qualified applicants will be accomodated and hired properly", said Tan.

Starting at 8:00 a.m., job seekers particularly those in the construction field may file their application at more than 30 booths of contructors at the DPWH grounds, he said.

He said in this big job generation spearhead by the DPWH, the agency is in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), the National Contractors Association of the Philippines (NACAP) and the Philippine Constuction Association (PCA).

Among the positions offered are for civil engineers, foremen, masons, carpenters, heavy equipment operators and surveyors, he said.

In the past years hundreds of youths were already employed by the 4th Engineering District office under the Task Force OYSTER (Out of School Youths Serving Toward Economic Recovery). (GEMI FORMARAN)





DOLE, nagsagawa ng job fair

SARIAYA, QUEZON – Upang maibsan ang problema sa pagkawala ng trabaho dito sa Quezon, nagsagawa ang Department of Labor & Employment (DOLE) Region IV-A ng 2nd CALABARZON Job Fair Caravan na ginanap sa bayang ito kamakailan kung saan ay mahigit na ilang libo OFWs na nawalan ng trabaho at job seekers ang nag-apply dito na isa sa programa ni Pangulong Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.

Lubos ang katuwaan ni Sariaya Mayor Rosauro Masilang dahilan sa marami sa kanyang mga kababayan ang mabibiyayaan at matutulungan na mabigyan ng hanapbuhay. Ang ganitong uri ng gawain ay napapanahon sa kasalukuyan dahil sa maraming mga tao ang nawalan ng trabaho dahilan sa pandaigdigang krisis, dagdag pa ni Mayor Masilang.

Sinabi naman ni DOLE Usec Marianito Roque na may epekto ang pandaigdigang krisis sa mga magsasaka ng niyog kung kaya’t kanilang pinulong ang sektor na ito upang bigyan ng solusyon ang problemang kinakaharap ng mga magsasaka at para matulungan din ang industriya ng pagniniyugan.

Ayon kay DOLE Provincial Director Virgilio Magsino, na patuloy na nagsasagawa ng livelihood training ang DOLE dito sa Quezon upang matugunan ang problema ng kawalan sa trabaho.

Ilan sa mga programang ito ay ang passion fruit and vegetable grower na ang beneficiary ay ang Marketing Association of Lucban na kung saan ay pinagkalooban nila ng P480,000 para mapalawak pa ang kanilang negsoyo.

Mahigit namang P1 milyon ang ipinagkaloob sa sektor ng mag-ta-tricyle at magsasaka upang magamit nila sa alternatibong hanapbuhay. Ang Small Farmers Association sa bayan ng Agdangan ay napagkalooban ng P100,000, samantala P98,320 ang ipnagkaloob sa Municipal Agriculture and Fishery Council sa bayan ng Catanauan.

Sa bayan ng Guinyangan, Quezon, ang Farmers Club Multi-Purpose Cooperative ay pinagkalooban ng P99,157.48; P634,315 naman ang ipinagkaloob sa Unlad Quezon Foundation, Inc. at ang Arbismen Sipag-Tiaga Multi-Purpose Cooperative ay napagkalooban ng P164,600.

Pagdedeklara kong magpresidente -biro lang Escudero

Ipinahayag ni Senador Chiz Escudero na isang biro lamang ang kaniyang pagdedeklara sa kaniyang paglaban sa pagka presidente ng bansa sa taong 2010.

Ito ang kanyang sinabi nang siyay magtungo sa Marinduque State College kamakailan kung saan ang kaniyang sinasabi ay isang biro lamang sa mga kabataan sa nasabing eskwelahan.


Ito’y naging taliwas naman sa kaniyang ipinahayag sa lalawigan ng Quezon na ang pinal niyang pagsasalita sa umuugong na kandidatura ay sa darating pang buwan ng Oktubre kung saan sasapit ang kaniyang ika-40 taong kaarawan.


Binigyang diin nito sa harap ng mahigit n na isang isang libong estudyante na ang kaniyang pagdalaw sa mga probinsya ay hindi “politicking “ kundi bilang bahagi ng konsultasyon sa kanyang mga constituents.

Hindi niya binanggit dito ang kanyang planong pagkandidato bilang presidente ng bansa sa taong 2010 ngunit tinanong nito ang mga estudyante kung ano ang criteria na kanilang pipiliin sa mga kandidato.Dapat aniyay ang piliin ay ang mga batang kumakandidato sa posisyon na tumutungkol naman sa kaniya.

Subalit bigla nitong binawi na isang biro lamang ang kaniyang sinasabing kakandidato siya sa darating na pampanguluhang election.


Katulad ng kanyang sinabi ng magtungo siya sa lalawigan ng Quezon,kung pipiliin ng mga botante kung sinong iboboto mas mainam na ang bata at dahil nakatitiyak ng pagbabago sa bansa.

Dinagsa ng mga pawikan ang Brgy. Masita Sitio Quatis sa bayan ng Gasan sa Marinduque

Sinabi ni Brgy. Kagawad Rodel Saludo ,madalas na nilang nakikita ang mga nasabing pawikan na namamasyal sa kanilang lugar at pinababayaan lamang nila.

At silay lubos na nasiyahan sapagkat hindi nila akalain na napakarami na pala ng mga ito at ginawang parang tahanan na ang nasabing barangay ayon naman kay kagawad Jaime Sadicon at Elizadro Seño.

Napag-alaman na mahigit ng 20 taon nakikita ang mga pawikan na nagsimula sa bilang na 50 na umaalis din ang mga ito matapos na makapangitlog Ngayon ay nagkaroon na ng parang hukay ang mga pawikan kung saan dito na ang mga ito nangingitlog at naninirahan.

Ayon kay Saludo ang nasabing pawikan ay may habang 35 inches at may lapad na 20inches.

Aniya, bilang opisyales ng brgy. agad nilang ipinaaalam sa tanggapan ng DENR ang nasabing pagdagsa ng pawikan upang malagyan ng ng tag o ng plate ang mga ito at agad ito pinapawalan muli sa karagatan. Ayon pa sa mga dalubhasa at mga eksperto sa ganitong pag-aaral ang mga pawikan ay bumabalik sa lugar na kanilag pinagsilangan at pinagmulan matapos ang dalawampu’t limang taon sa kanilang pakikibaka sa ilalim ng dagat. At sa pamamagitan ng bituin sa langit at talas ng kanilang pag-iisip at pakiramdam, natutunton nila ang tamang daan pabalik sa lupang kanilang sinilangan.
Kaugnay nito nagsilbi namang mabubuting pastol sina G. Henry Sumo, G. Gerardo Olivar ,mga opisyal ng barangay Masiga pamumuno ni Kgg. Eden Sadicon, Kgwd. Lolita Natal ng committee on Environment Chairman,Mayor ng Gasan Vicky Lao Lim at ang mga DENR-PENRO.
Mahigpit na ipinagbabawal sa Marinduque ang pagpatay sa mga pawikan at kaagad nilang ipinaalam sa mga kinauukulan kung mayroong lumalabag sa kanilang kautusan.
Kaya naman sa pagmamalasakit ng mga mamamayan sa yamang dagat ay lagi silang naglilinis sa mga coastal area upang mawala ang mga basura na itinatapon ng mga taong hindi nagmamalasakit sa karagatan.
